Our Commitment

Baja Sharkeez is committed to making sharkeez.net accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that every guest deserves a welcoming, usable, and enjoyable digital experience, and we are continually working to improve the accessibility of our Site and our five restaurants.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines describe how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.

We also strive to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.

Current Accessibility Features

The following features are currently implemented on our Site:

• Skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass navigation and jump directly to page content.
• Visible keyboard focus indicators on all interactive elements.
• Logical heading structure (H1 through H3) to help screen-reader users understand and navigate page content.
• ARIA landmark roles for navigation, main content, and footer regions.
• Touch targets sized to meet WCAG minimum target-size guidance on mobile.
• Alternative text on meaningful images, with decorative images marked so screen readers skip them.
• A text version of each menu published directly below the menu images, so the full menu is available to screen readers and to guests who prefer resizable text.
• Keyboard navigation of menus, links, and other interactive controls, without requiring a mouse.
• Links within body text underlined so they are identifiable without relying on color.
• Resizable text that stays readable when zoomed up to 200 percent.
• A direct accessibility-assistance phone number in the footer for guests who cannot complete a task on the Site.

Compliance Status

Our Site has been evaluated against WCAG 2.2 Level AA using automated testing tools. We are progressively incorporating manual and assistive-technology testing. We recognize some areas may not yet fully meet these standards and treat accessibility as an ongoing effort.

Known Limitations

While we work toward full WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance, we want to be transparent about areas that are actively being addressed:

• Third-party services. Some functionality is provided by third parties that we link to from our Site, including our delivery and pickup platform (DoorDash), our gift card provider, and our separate merchandise store. These services are operated by those third parties and may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We encourage those providers to prioritize accessibility and will flag issues we discover.
• Ongoing remediation. Issues identified through testing or user feedback are prioritized based on impact and addressed in regular updates.

Alternative Access Options

If you have trouble accessing any part of our Site, please contact us and we will work with you to provide the information you need in an alternative format, including making a reservation, answering questions about the menu, or relaying information from a page you are unable to use.

This Accessibility Statement was last reviewed on the date listed above. We review and update this statement at least annually and when we make significant changes to the Site.
